Theater Pro Support

What is Theater Pro?

Theater Pro is a Safari extension for macOS that transforms your YouTube viewing experience. It allows you to open any YouTube video in a dedicated, resizable “theater” window that intelligently switches between a clean, distraction-free “Watch Mode” when videos are playing and a normal “Browse Mode” for discovering content—all within a single window.

Perfect for ultrawide monitors (eliminating black bars), vertical displays, and multitasking, Theater Pro gives you complete control over your YouTube viewing experience while maintaining a clean, focused interface.

How to Use Theater Pro

Theater Pro offers three convenient ways to launch videos into the theater window:

  1. Theater Pro Button: Click the “Theater Pro” button that appears directly in the YouTube player controls to instantly open the current video in theater mode.
  2. Right-Click Menu: Right-click on any video thumbnail and select “Open in Theater Pro” from the context menu to launch that video in the theater window.
  3. Toolbar Button: Click the Theater Pro extension button in Safari's toolbar to open the current YouTube page in theater mode.

Once in theater mode, simply move your mouse to reveal hover controls including a back button and video title. The window automatically adapts between watch and browse modes as you navigate.
